Terms of Use
Effective 3 September 2026 · Taken Daily for iOS (“Taken.”, “the app”), made by Josbach (“we”).
By downloading or using Taken. you agree to these terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies to every app on the App Store. If the two conflict, Apple’s EULA wins.
1. What Taken. is
Taken. is a reminder tool. You choose a time and a schedule; the app rings, nudges and lets you mark the day as done. That is all it does.
2. What Taken. is not
- Taken. is not a medical device, not a medication tracker and not a source of medical advice. It does not know, and does not ask, what you take.
- Reminders can be missed: your phone may be off, in Focus, out of battery, or notifications may be disabled. Do not rely on Taken. for anything where a missed reminder could harm you. Use it as a convenience alongside your own routine and the advice of your healthcare professional.
3. Purchases and subscriptions
- The app is free to download. After the first days (or the first Taken), continued use needs a purchase: a weekly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase.
- The weekly plan may include an introductory price for the first week (for example $0.99, then $2.99 per week in the United States). Introductory offers are available once per Apple ID, as determined by Apple.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the price shown at purchase until cancelled. Your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancel at any time in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment that unlocks the app on the Apple ID that bought it, for as long as the app is available.
- All payments, refunds and receipts are handled by Apple. Refund requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com. Restore purchases from Settings → Restore purchase inside the app.
- Prices vary by country and can change; the price in the App Store at the time of purchase applies.
4. Your data
How the app handles data is described in the Privacy Policy. In short: no account, reminder data stays on your phone, anonymous diagnostics and usage analytics leave it.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app, interfere with its services, or use it in a way that breaks the law or Apple’s terms.
6. Availability and changes
We may update, change or discontinue features, prices or the app itself. We will try to give notice through the App Store release notes. If we discontinue the app, active subscriptions are not renewed.
7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we exclude all warranties, and we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or inability to use, the app, including missed or late reminders. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
